{"id":8285,"date":"2016-09-26T13:33:07","date_gmt":"2016-09-26T13:33:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/2022.photogaspesie.ca\/en\/?p=8285"},"modified":"2016-09-26T13:33:07","modified_gmt":"2016-09-26T13:33:07","slug":"republique-by-isabelle-hayeur-another-life-with-editions-escuminac","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/2022.photogaspesie.ca\/en\/republique-by-isabelle-hayeur-another-life-with-editions-escuminac\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cR\u00e9publique\u201d\u00a0by Isabelle Hayeur: another life with \u00c9ditions Escuminac"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span lang=\"en-US\">As the end of exhibits in the 7th edition of Rencontres approaches, the new publishing house Escuminac, set up by Rencontres in 2016, reminds readers that it is possible at any time to pick up the work \u201cR\u00e9publique\u201d by Qu\u00e9bec artist <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><b>Isabelle Hayeur,<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span lang=\"en-US\"> which is based on pictures in the exhibition of the same name.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span lang=\"en-US\">The photobook-publishing wing was in fact added to the activities of Rencontres with a view to extending the exhibits, to diversifying actions taken and to offering artists new distribution platforms.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Invited to do an artist residency in France in the fall of 2015 by our partners <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><b>Diaphane, Les Photaumnales<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span lang=\"en-US\"> in Beauvais, Picardy, Isabelle Hayeur found herself wrapped up in the events following the attacks of November 13. Returning to Place de la R\u00e9publique every day, she chose to bear witness to the citizens\u2019 movements and visceral reactions often by taking photos on the fly, being careful to always question what she saw without sinking into shallowness.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span lang=\"en-US\">It is recalled that Isabelle Hayeur\u2019s exhibit <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><i>R\u00e9publique<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span lang=\"en-US\"> has been presented at Centre d\u2019artistes Vaste et Vague until September 23, 2016.
